Senior Cloud/DevOps Engineer (AWS)

The Company:

An opportunity for a Senior (AWS) Cloud/DevOps Engineer to join a fast growing SaaS business who’s seen continued growth year on year since inception in 2011.

As part of that growth they are now looking for a Senior (AWS) Cloud/DevOps Engineer to join there Sydney team to work with and lead the Engineering team across they way in which they continue to shift into AWS and automate current process’s and platforms, whilst building new solutions.


  • Develop and support the base infrastructure in AWS
  • Create and maintaining tooling to support deployment and stability (including CI/CD infrastructure)
  • Craft and support the templates, automated tools and systems necessary for multiple teams to deploy many times a day
  • Investigate failures, outages and service degradation
  • Partner with our development squads to help shape the design, architecture and implementation of applications/platforms
  • Support and guide development squads about infrastructure, reliability and observability
  • On-call 24/7 support rotation for our critical systems/platforms
  • Implement automated tooling to monitor, measure, report and raise alerts on systems as needed
  • Incident response post-mortem analysis and review of incidents
  • Equal parts working in an operational role as writing code to automate workflows
  • Thrive on automating repeatable tasks and will not accept repeating the same task over and over by hand
  • Engaging across the business to create and refine our software applications and platforms


  • 5+ years experience and knowledge of AWS cloud infrastructure (e.g VPC, ECS Fargate, RDS, Lambda, S3, IAM)
  • Practical experience with AWS Cloudformation, particularly deploying applications
  • Experience with Docker and Linux
  • Experience maintaining CI/CD infrastructure and tooling
  • Practical experience writing scripting languages (any language)
  • Practical experience in cloud applications/platforms software engineering
  • Experience supporting engineers achieve modern, cloud based architectures
  • Good understanding of observability and incident management
